Church Membership

Why join a church?

Becoming a member of Church in the Valley means becoming a part of our spiritual family and joining us on an important and exciting journey. Membership is a doorway to many different opportunities. When you become a member you can begin training in character and leadership development. Along with voting in member decisions, you are able to attend specialized training events and seminars, participate in mission trips, and use your gifts to serve on the ministry teams that require membership.

How do I join?

Membership PreviewThe first step in our membership process is to attend the Church in the Valley Preview. Even if you haven’t decided about membership, this is a good way to find out more about Church in the Valley. The Preview is designed to let you know who we are, our major focus, and how you can get involved.  It’s also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Attending the Preview is the first step in our membership process.

101After you’ve attended the Preview, we invite you to attend Discovering Church in the Valley (Class 101). This is an opportunity to touch base with you on many important issues. First, we want to get to know you. We’ll discuss the basics of biblical salvation —the beginning point of your journey as a Christ-follower. We’ll help you understand the significance of baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion). Then, you’ll have the chance to learn more about Church in the Valley—our mission and purpose, our beliefs, our heart attitudes, and our history. At the end of the class you will be given the opportunity to sign our Membership Covenant and become an active member of our church!

Making a commitment to a church body is an important step in our spiritual journey and is vital to our spiritual health. Our commitments shape our character! If you’d like to find out about the next membership event, please .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
